  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. In a bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt until well combined.
  4. Spread the pumpkin mixture evenly over one half of the puff pastry.
  5. Fold the pastry over and cut into strips.
  6. Twist each strip and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and drizzle with maple syrup if using.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, sprinkle some sugar on top before baking.
