French Chicken Casserole a la Normande

A delicious French-inspired chicken casserole with a delightful twist of turkey bacon, perfect for family meals.

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs
  • 2 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, brown the chicken thighs on both sides.
  4. Add onions and garlic, cooking until they are soft.
  5. Mix in mushrooms, followed by heavy cream, chicken broth, and Dijon mustard.
  6. Add thyme, salt and pepper, and stir well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and top with turkey bacon.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
