- 1 cup masoor dal
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon oil (for cooking)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup water (as needed)
- Soak the masoor dal in water for at least 2 hours.
- Drain the water and blend the dal into a smooth batter.
- Add turmeric, cumin, salt, and red chili powder to the batter.
- Mix in the chopped onion and cilantro.
- Heat a non-stick skillet and add a little oil.
- Pour a ladleful of batter into the skillet and spread it out.
- Cook until the edges start to lift, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
- Repeat until all batter is used.
