  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion.
  3. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, followed by the beef mixture, and half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
  5. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour over the casserole.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.

  • You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
