Uncle Jack’s Mac-and-Cheese

Indulge in a creamy and savory mac-and-cheese that combines the smoky flavors of turkey bacon and the hearty taste of chicken ham.

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove, crumble, and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and melt over medium heat. Stir in flour, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually add milk, whisking until it thickens.
  5. Stir in cheese until melted, then add the cooked macaroni, chicken ham, and crispy turkey bacon. Mix well.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix in some spices like paprika or garlic powder.
