Deliciously soft and spiced, these Zimtschnecken-Muffins are an easy treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 125 grams sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 120 ml milk
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • 50 grams melted butter
  • 100 grams cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vegetable oil.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then fold in the melted butter.
  5. Spoon the batter into muffin tins and swirl in cream cheese.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
